History

The Karachi Chapter is one of the most influential and resource-rich chapters within the Kohatian Association (KA). Its importance stems from Karachi’s role as Pakistan’s financial, commercial, and maritime hub, which has naturally attracted Kohatians pursuing higher education, military careers, and professional growth in fields like banking, IT, commerce, and defence.

Historically, Karachi has been a natural destination for Kohatians from Sindh, Balochistan, and Southern Punjab, with many settling in the city for professional and educational opportunities. The chapter was formally established to unite these dispersed Kohatians, provide a sense of belonging, and offer structured support through community activities, welfare initiatives, and alumni networking.

Many Kohatians who joined the Pakistan Navy have also settled in Karachi due to its status as the headquarters for maritime and naval operations. Several prominent Kohatians have held senior positions in the Navy, corporate sector, and civil service, leading to the establishment of a formal Karachi Chapter cabinet.

Over the years, the Karachi Chapter has been instrumental in:

  • Supporting welfare drives for cadets studying at Cadet College Kohat (CCK) and assisting Kohatian families in need.
  • Providing career counselling, job placements, and mentorship for Kohatians entering the Navy, IT, banking, and business sectors.
  • Collaborating with KA’s central leadership to promote transparency, eVoting, and donation management systems.

As one of the most strategically placed chapters, the Karachi Chapter represents a powerful voice for Kohatians from Sindh, Balochistan, and the southern regions of Pakistan. Through its leadership and advocacy, the Karachi Chapter continues to drive constitutional reforms, support alumni welfare, and champion the adoption of digital transformation within the Kohatian Association.
