About the UK&EU Chapter

Mission & Objectives

The UK & EU Chapter of the Kohatian Association (KA) serves as a key pillar within the global Kohatian alumni network, dedicated to uniting, supporting, and empowering Kohatians living in the United Kingdom and Europe. The chapter’s primary mission is to foster lifelong bonds among Kohatians, provide mentorship, and offer a platform for personal and professional development.

The UK & EU Chapter focuses on the following objectives:

  • Community Support & Welfare: Provide support to alumni and their families, offering guidance, welfare assistance, and mentorship as needed.
  • Networking & Professional Growth: Facilitate networking opportunities through events, workshops, and social gatherings to strengthen ties among Kohatians in the UK and EU.
  • Advocacy & Representation: Actively participate in Kohatian Association (KA) initiatives such as fundraising campaigns, eVoting, and other collaborative projects to ensure the voices of UK & EU Kohatians are heard.
  • Leadership & Development: Encourage leadership development through mentorship, guidance, and active participation in the KA’s decision-making processes.

The UK & EU Chapter serves as a vital link between Kohatians residing in the region and the larger global Kohatian community. Through its initiatives, it strives to uphold the values of brotherhood, transparency, and support that are central to the Kohatian spirit.

History

The UK & EU Chapter was established on 20 January 2009, marking it as the first international chapter of the Kohatian Association. The idea for the chapter emerged from the growing number of Kohatians who had moved to the UK and Europe for higher education, employment, and business opportunities. Recognising the need for a unified network to support Kohatians abroad, the chapter was officially formalised under the KA framework.

Initially starting as an informal network of former cadets, the chapter has since evolved into a well-structured, formally governed body. Over the years, it has played a pivotal role in fostering community spirit, supporting Kohatians in need, and contributing to the larger mission of KA.

Some of the UK & EU Chapter’s key milestones include:

  • Community Building & Events: Hosting annual gatherings, family events, and professional workshops to bring Kohatians together in a social, friendly, and supportive environment.
  • Welfare & Support Initiatives: Raising funds to support welfare projects for Kohatians both locally and back home, including financial support for Cadet College Kohat students.
  • Technological Advancements: Being one of the first chapters to champion and support the development of eVoting, enabling alumni to participate in elections from anywhere in the world.
  • Professional Networking: Supporting Kohatians with career advice, mentorship, and job opportunities, especially for those newly arriving in the UK & EU.

Through its efforts, the UK & EU Chapter has become one of the most active, well-organised, and forward-thinking chapters in the Kohatian Association, serving as a model for other international chapters to follow.

Projects & Initiatives

The UK & EU Chapter is constantly working on initiatives that bring value to the Kohatian community both locally and globally. Some of the most notable initiatives include:

  • eVoting Implementation: As a key driver of technological advancement within the Kohatian Association, the UK & EU Chapter played a major role in promoting and supporting the implementation of eVoting for chapter and KA elections. The goal is to ensure fair, transparent, and accessible voting for Kohatians worldwide.

  • Donation Management: The chapter has supported the creation of a Donation Management System that allows members to contribute to projects like student scholarships, medical support, and emergency assistance for Kohatians in need. This transparent approach tracks how donations are used, offering peace of mind to donors.

  • Career Mentorship Program: Given the strong presence of Kohatians in key sectors like healthcare, finance, engineering, and technology, the chapter has launched a Career Mentorship Program. Through this initiative, experienced Kohatians provide guidance to younger members on education, career paths, and navigating the challenges of working abroad.

  • Annual Get-Togethers (GTGs): The UK & EU Chapter hosts two major Get-Togethers (GTGs) annually. These events bring Kohatians together with their families, fostering friendship, shared experiences, and a sense of community. These events often coincide with important updates about chapter activities and Kohatian Association initiatives.

Community & Support

The UK & EU Chapter is renowned for its sense of community and strong support network. With a growing number of Kohatians in the UK & EU region, the chapter provides a robust system for welfare, guidance, and support. From helping new arrivals settle into the region to offering mentorship to those pursuing higher education and employment, the UK & EU Chapter stands as a pillar of support for its members.

The chapter actively collaborates with other KA chapters to ensure that its members receive timely assistance and support. This support ranges from career mentorship and welfare support to mental health guidance and professional development.

The support system includes:

  • Mentorship & Guidance: For Kohatians new to the region or seeking career advice.
  • Community Assistance: Welfare support for Kohatians and their families in need.
  • Chapter-wide Collaborations: Collaborative efforts with other regional chapters to provide aid during emergencies or large-scale initiatives.

The sense of community remains a core pillar of the UK & EU Chapter’s mission.
